Specialist Expertise

As tax advisers and accountants, we bring additional skills that are especially valuable in more complex estates:

  • Valuation of business interests and private company shares
  • Advice on Business Property Relief and Agricultural Property Relief
  • Capital gains tax planning during the administration period
  • Income tax returns for the estate and the deceased
  • Guidance on tax‑efficient timing of asset sales and distributions

This combination of probate and tax expertise helps protect the value of the estate and ensures beneficiaries receive the maximum inheritance possible.

Our Fees

We believe in clear, fair and transparent pricing. At a time when families need certainty, we make sure costs are straightforward and agreed from the outset.

  • Our probate application service is offered for a fixed minimum fee starting from £1,250 plus VAT, covering all inheritance tax forms and the application for the Grant of Probate.  We will advise you of the fixed fee when we understand exactly what the estate comprises.
  • Where we are instructed to carry out the full estate administration, our fees typically start from £7,500 plus VAT.
  • More complex estates — for example those involving business interests, multiple properties, trusts or international assets — may require additional work. In these cases, we will always provide a clear estimate before any fees are incurred.
  • For some estate matters we may have to charge an hourly fee and if this applies you will be advised beforehand.  Our hourly charge out rate is £250 plus VAT per hour.

Professional Indemnity Insurance

In accordance with the provision of Services Regulations 2009 and the ICAEW Professional Indemnity Insurance Regulations, our firm maintains Professional Indemnity Insurance Cover up to a maximum of £500,000 and is capped at this level.
