Steve Marsland CTA
Initially trained in Hampshire and then London, Steve moved to the West Country in 1997 where he gained employment with a prominent firm of accountants.
In 2003 Steve decided that the time was right to branch out on his own and established his own practice working from home. As a result of rapid growth he persuaded Zohan Nash to join him at the end of 2003 which lay the foundations for the present practice.
As a qualified Chartered Tax Advisor, Steve is responsible for all tax matters affecting the client’s from both direct and indirect tax planning to more complex strategic planning including the use of tax mitigation schemes. Steve is also responsible for the firm’s marketing strategy and spends a great of deal of time seeing new clients and meeting with existing clients to ensure their business needs are regularly met.
Outside of work Steve is a keen skier and snowboarder and is a qualified level 1 BASI ski instructor. You will find Steve most weekends between October and March at Torquay Alpine Ski Club as one of their Ski Instructors.

Zohan Nash ATT
Having trained in a London firm Zohan moved to Devon in 1999. He then worked for a large South West based practice for approximately four years before joining Steve Marsland to form Marsland Nash Associates.
Also a qualified tax specialist, Zohan’s role is split between managing the internal issues of the firm, to include systems policies, staff and overall service development as well as dealing with client work. In addition to having his own portfolio, with his specialism in IT, Zohan deals with the client bookkeeping and management accounting systems together with advising clients on overall system development and improvement.
Outside of work Zohan is a keen motorcyclist. He tours Europe regularly on his road bike covering around 2,000 miles a trip, as well as riding green lane and endurance off road motorcycles on a hobby basis.

Simon Glendinning ACA
Simon joined the practice at the beginning of 2005. He became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2004 and is also a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians.
He has had many years experience of working in a general accountancy practice attaining a broad range of knowledge covering both Corporate and Non Corporate clients. Simon’s area of specialism lies with corporate clients, where he draws upon a wealth of knowledge in company reporting, company secretarial and corporation tax.
Within the practice, Simon is our Corporate Services Director and deals with a number of owner managed companies, as well as advising those clients on their own personal tax affairs.
Simon’s hobbies include swimming and cycling.

Nathan Murphy ACCA
Nathan joined the practice in 2007, having previously worked for 4 years for another firm of accountants in the Newton Abbot area. As a fully qualified member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, he deals with a wide client base, including corporate and non corporate businesses as well as personal tax cases. Nathan also specialises in Tax Credits for the firm and deals with all our 80 plus tax credit clients, in addition to providing support to a network of 100 plus accountancy firms for the provision of our own tax credit software and support services.
Nathan’s hobbies include football, for which he has represented Exeter City and Torquay United. At present he plays for Dartmouth AFC a local semi professional team.

Hayden Binmore
Hayden joined the practice in 2007 as a trainee accountant and is currently studying towards his AAT exams. His day to day responsibilities include payroll and bookkeeping and also the preparation of accounts and tax returns for sole traders and partnerships. Hayden also has one of the most important jobs in the practice; that of arranging the team’s quarterly staff outings! Outside of work Hayden is a keen footballer (he tries his best!) and plays for a local Torbay team.

Julie Sheffield
Julie joined the practice in 2005. She is responsible for all reception duties and also assists with the arranging of conferences and ad hoc projects that Steve and Zohan undertake. Along with Hayden she is also responsible for arranging the team’s quarterly outings.
Julie’s hobbies include reading and walking.

Sharon Stanley
Sharon joined the practice in 2008, with a wealth of experience in administration and business management having worked for number of years in the public sector. She is currently responsible for a number of duties, including Human Resource and Health & Safety management, credit control matters and the practice web site.
Sharon hobbies include skiing, sailing, walking and cycling. |
