Company History
The practice was started by Steve Marsland in April 2003. Several months later after significant early growth Steve realised that to grow the business to its full potential he would need to take on a like minded individual with a lot of drive and enthusiasm to build a high quality firm of accountants and business advisors. In this respect he turned to Zohan Nash, someone he had previously worked with, and asked whether he was interested in becoming a co owner of the business. After initial discussions, Zohan agreed to join the practice and in December 2003 working from one room in Steve’s house, Marsland Nash Associates was born.
Shortly after Zohan joined, in February 2004 the practice had outgrown the room in Steve’s house and alternative accommodation was needed. Offices were located in Torbay and for the next two and half years the business grew rapidly with new staff being added as and when required.
Our first employee was Simon Glendinning, a Chartered Accountant who both of us had worked with previously and he was appointed as the practice’s corporate services director at the end of 2004.
Since that time, the practice has seen unprecedented growth year on year and in the summer of 2006 it was decided that larger office premises were required. A great deal of effort was put into trying to find offices in Torbay but none were found to be suitable. Therefore, the decision was made to try and locate offices in the surrounding area. We were fortunate to find offices on the Brunel Industrial Estate in Newton Abbot and we moved into these in December 2006 where we continue to be.
